A flea market find

My flea market find

fresh sumer breakfast

It is 42°C today here in Sydney, 42°C, and it is not just hot it is also quiet humid, which is really not a good combination for me. It is really hard to be outside with such hot weather and I feel like I am running from one shade to the other, trying not to be in the sun and when the wind is actually blowing a bit it feels like someone is holding a blow dryer into your face.

Well, I found an old Pentax at the flea market the other day. I got it for quiet a good price. I was walking around with it the last couple of weeks and took an image here and there. I hope the picture turn out well. I forgot a bit how it is to wait to get the pictures developed, it is actually and exciting feeling, let's hope they turn out good.

What are your plans for the weekend. I just stocked up on more fruits and water and hope it won't be that hot tomorrow, too.

Maria

Well, I guess I tried. I just came back from picking up the pictures I took with my new pentax camera and it turned out the film wasn't loaded correctly, or anything like that.
It is so disappointing that now all the pictures I took are just in my head and not here, in front of me. Well, I don't give up and try it again. Be patient with me.

Hello :) I'm in sydney too, it's super hot!! I've been reading, watching movies and eating ice cubes in front of my fan all day, there's not much else to do! We've stocked up on fruit too, I love freezing bananas and putting them in smoothies...mmm

Hi Rike,
Unfortunately the tea hasn't arrived yet, but I am also still waiting for all the packages from my parents for christmas:( I have heard that there are sometimes problems with sending any sort of "food" to Australia, I hope so much it will come..I love Pepermint tea..
Well the thing in the bowl is my very special breakfast. It is Yoghurt, mixed with flexseed oil and grinded flaxseeds, it is soo good and delicious. Try it you will never stop eating it :)

rike said...

oh i will try it immediately cause i have everything here ... do you sweet it up with honey or something?

Well, it is this very special recipe from Dr. Budwig, which is supposed to be very healthy. You add to 100g yoghurt 1-2 spoons of oil, stir it up very very well and then add the grounded flaxseed...you can add, nuts, honey, fruits, whatever you want..it is soooo good

Oh I cant wait to see your Pentax photos. What a find. Another Marimekko mug! I went a bit crazy at christmas time and treated myself to a few pieces. Today was warmer here, almost Spring-like. I hope there's a break in the weather soon enough and you get some coler temps. xx

Funny what a difference one state's distance from another can make. It's actually cold today in Melbourne, after torrential rains on Friday going into Saturday soaked the city, and more so the state.

It's good to meet you here. I come via France and Elisabelle's blog. I'm not a photographer myself. I use words, but I love to see other people's work and to connect with those interested in life and beauty.

oh that's too bad about your camera, but do try again!

i am always on the lookout for a decent, working film camera - to the point that when i come across one i sometimes look it up on ebay on my phone to see if it is a good model. no luck yet, but half the fun is looking, right?

(and then the other half is waiting for the pcitures to be developed!!)

good luck with your next film!
have a lovely sunday :)

lovely, you are getting me so excited for spring!

that's so disappointing, I know what it's like to have images in your head that you just want to see in tangible form - only in my case, I work with words, not a camera :)

We've been having similar weather in Perth - i.e. hot and humid. It's terrible, this summer has been particularly brutal. I hope we get more pleasant summer weather soon!

Trula said...

Sorry about the film. Maybe it found the weather too hot, too.
It often gets that hot here and the only things that seems to help is sleeping a long, long siesta and going out at night.

sorry about your film :( that's dissappointing!! hope next time u r more lucky! have a nice weekend

A. Jarrett said...

The exact same thing happened to me the first time I used my Pentax - I didn't load the film properly.

Try again - it will be well worth it!

KERRY said...

Oh boo, what a shame. That happened to us recently too. I always have a slight worry that the pictures won't come out, but even though I think that, I always know they will...so when they don't, it's even worse. I'm sure you can capture many new wonderful things. Looking forward to seeing the results. Have a nice weekend and hope you survive the heat!
