A city bush walk I

Last winter some friends and I went for a city bush walk. I feel so lucky as there are so many beautiful walks you can do within Sydney.
We walked along the water from Spit to Manly which is an easy 10km walk. We walked along the water, along a small path through bushes, saw lots of native flowers, sat down on the big stones enjoyed the view & imagined how amazing it would be to live in one of the houses close by....

Days off

On the table

The Easter break has been so good and needed. On days off I usually wake up particularly early, as if my body realizes that there are whole days which I can fill with things I like to do and wakes me up to really early hours. After the first cool Autumn days in the last week the warmer weather came back for the long weekend. On Good Friday we drove to Coogee and went to Wylies Baths. I ran out of film (35mm) and thought I had some frames left in the medium format camera I found at the flea market many months ago. I walked around and took photos of people reading & relaxing, those who went for for a swim or had ice cream, of lifeguards looking out to the sea and the pool and just some shades which got created by the sun that day. Later at home I found out that the film must have already been full and all the images I took weren't really captured anywhere but in my head.

Today after work I went for a swim and on my way back home the sun was setting in one of those beautiful ways. The sky appeared in all sorts of red and pink colours. It was beautiful.

We are off to Melbourne for a few days tomorrow. It's been a long time since I went last and I can't wait to explore parts of the city! Maria

Morning swims in Perth

Last month we spend five days in Perth and went almost every morning to the ocean for a swim. It is the first thing we did after waking up and I love it so much. The beaches are different in the west compare to Sydney. The sand is super soft and the water a bit warmer and so incredibly clear and blue. You can see so many elder people swimming laps or just going into the water to get a bit wet, chatting to others during their beach walk or having a black tea after their swim.
The Beach is a wonderful thing!

A stroll with a friend

It is so nice to have people around I know for a long time and show them the places I like to go, to eat food I love and just enjoy life here together. We were really lucky and had lots of visitors this year. At the moment we have friends from Munich here who are leaving to spend a week in Tasmania on Sunday, before that I look forward to trying out a new restaurant with them and on Saturday my dear sister and a friend will come again to spend a few days with us before they will hit the roads of Australia.

Sydney is green

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

Sydney is green, especially even more on a grey or rainy day.

I am glad the sun came out today as our friends from Germany are visiting and we planned to go to the beach which I now look forward to.

Happy weekend my friends.

Oh, and my friends just started a blog called Gluecksmaedchen, it is in German and has some cute DIY tutorials and lots of other stuff on it. Check it out!
